Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your destination and the size of the parcel. Every order is sent tracked, for extra peace of mind.

Original artworks are shipped within 3–5 working days. Prints are shipped within 5–7 working days, as they're printed to order. Framed prints are shipped within 10–14 working days, as each one is made to order. You'll receive a dispatch email with tracking details as soon as your order is on its way.

Prints are sent flat in sturdy cardboard mailer envelopes to keep them protected in transit. Original artworks are carefully packaged and sent with full tracking. Framed prints are professionally packed to protect the frame and glass during transit.

If you're outside New Zealand, your order may be subject to import duties, taxes or VAT charged by your country. UK orders ship from New Zealand, so your parcel may attract import VAT (usually around 20%) plus a small courier handling fee on arrival. Orders under £140 aren't currently available for UK shipping. For Canada and Australia, I don't charge tax at checkout, but larger pieces — particularly originals — can sometimes incur customs charges. These charges are set by your local customs authority and are payable by you on delivery.

Yes. You'll get an email with tracking details as soon as your order leaves the studio.

My limited edition prints are produced on archival fine art paper and hand-signed by me before they're sent out.

Many of them are — the edition size (for example, "Edition of 50") is listed on the individual product page. Others are open edition and remain available on an ongoing basis. Check the listing for the piece you're interested in for the details.

Sizes vary from piece to piece, generally ranging from A5 up to A1, with some artworks also available in specific centimetre sizes. Available sizes are listed on each product page.

Yes, many prints offer an optional frame at checkout. See the Framing section below for the colours I offer.

A print is a reproduction of an artwork on fine art paper — more than one of each may exist. An original is the painting itself: a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted piece that only ever exists once.

Yes. Every original is a unique soft pastel painting — once it's gone, it's gone, and it won't be reproduced as another original.

I work in soft pastel, building each piece up in layers through slow, considered work rather than rushing. It's part of why the finished paintings feel calm and grounded.

It varies by piece — some are offered both framed and unframed, others as one or the other. Check the individual product listing for what's included.

It's gone for good. Once a painting sells, the listing is marked sold or removed from the shop, since there's only ever one of each.

I offer three timber frame options: White, Natural and Black. Availability can vary slightly by artwork, so the exact choices will show on each product page.

Of course. Most prints are available print-only as well as framed, so you're welcome to choose unframed and have it framed by a framer near you.

All prices are shown in New Zealand dollars (NZD). If you're shopping from outside New Zealand, your bank or card provider will convert this to your local currency at checkout.

I offer a 14-day change-of-mind return window from the day you receive your item. Please email art@karengourley.com first to request a return — items sent back without this won't be accepted. Your item needs to come back in the condition you received it, with proof of purchase. Sale items aren't eligible for return.

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives and email me at art@karengourley.com straight away with photos of the damage and the packaging. I'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund.

Once a return is approved, you'll be refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days. It can take a little longer for your bank to process and post it on their end.

The simplest way is to return the item you have, and once that's accepted, place a separate order for what you'd like instead.

Soft pastel sits on the surface of the paper rather than soaking into it, so it's best handled with care and kept behind glass once framed. Avoid touching the surface directly, and keep it away from direct sunlight and damp or humid rooms.
