Full of energy and charm, ‘Following Fantail’ captures one of New Zealand’s most beloved native birds, the cheeky little pīwakawaka. With its fanned tail and curious tilt, this tiny bird is known for flitting close as if to guide you along the path, always darting just ahead.
Painted in soft pastels with layers of delicate detail, this artwork brings the fantail’s inquisitive personality to life against a gentle, dappled background of forest greens and golds. It’s a celebration of connection between nature, art, and the fleeting moments that make us pause and smile.
