Why This Piece?
There’s a point in summer when the lavender in my garden seems to belong more to the bees than it does to me.
It’s absolutely buzzing with them, moving from flower to flower while I follow them around with my camera trying to catch one in focus. Easier said than done when your subject refuses to cooperate.
Purple Haze was inspired by those warm summer days and that lovely haze of purple you get when the lavender is at its best.
I wanted the painting to feel like standing quietly beside it for a moment, watching one tiny bee going about its day. Another little piece of The Quiet Wild happening right outside the door.

Purple Haze is all about that dreamy moment when the lavender is in full flower and absolutely humming with bees.
The soft purple tones and blurred background give the painting an almost hazy summer feel, while the little bee amongst the lavender draws you in for a closer look.
