This painting was inspired by a quiet walk along a riverbank in the early evening, the kind you nearly talk yourself out of. The day feels heavy, motivation is low and it would be easier to stay in.

But then a heron lifts from the grasses, sudden and graceful, changing the atmosphere in an instant.

This piece is about showing up even when you don’t feel like it and being rewarded with something quietly extraordinary when you do. Not a grand moment but one that lingers and subtly shifts how you feel.

Created in soft pastel, the focus is on light, movement, and atmosphere rather than detail alone, allowing space for you to bring your own memories of walking, noticing, and unexpected encounters with nature.
