There's something captivating about a barn owl's quiet gaze.

Unlike many birds of prey, they don't demand attention. They simply watch. Calm, patient and almost impossibly graceful.

Silent Observer was inspired by that feeling of stillness. The moments in nature when everything seems to pause, and for just a second, you're sharing space with something truly wild.

Painted in soft pastels on archival Pastelmat, this original captures the delicate textures of the owl's feathers against a soft blue-grey background, allowing the warmth of its plumage and those dark, inquisitive eyes to become the focus.

Why This Piece?

Owls have always fascinated me.

There's a quiet confidence about them that I find incredibly calming. They don't need bright colours or dramatic movement to capture your attention. Instead, they invite you to slow down and really look.

That's what I hope this painting does too.

As part of The Quiet Wild, Silent Observer is a reminder that some of nature's most extraordinary moments happen when we simply pause long enough to notice them.

Each edition is produced in small numbers to preserve the integrity and collectable nature of the work. Every print is individually signed and numbered by hand.
